The Nanaimo Ladysmith School District welcomes International Elementary Students into our 28 elementary schools.
All elementary children from Kindergarten to Grade 7, are required to live with a parent or guardian while studying in Nanaimo and Ladysmith.
International Elementary Students are fully integrated into classrooms with Canadian students and are placed according to their age – not their English language proficiency. Our teachers and support staff are world class educators, who are used to accommodating the diverse needs of all children. We embrace diversity and differentiate to support students’ learning needs.
Elementary schools will offer children aged 5-12 years old many opportunities to build friendships, develop their English language skills, and nurture their interests in academic and social environments.
The curriculum in all our Elementary Schools is based on the B.C. Ministry of Education mandated curriculum. It reinforces the need for strong literacy and numeracy foundations and incorporates the knowledge and skills necessary for all students to be successful.
Elementary Entry Dates: September (beginning of the school year) and January (halfway through the school year)
Elementary Application Deadlines: June 15 (for September entry) and November 15 (for January entry)
